La Margherita Blu

Turquoise is the colour of the building itself, the one you see from the courtyard as you walk in. Inside, the house carries it onto the bedroom wall and sets the red sofa against it: it’s the one with the strongest character of the three.

Like La Ginestra it sleeps six across two separate bedrooms, plus the sofa bed. The kitchen looks onto the citrus courtyard, and its table is where everyone ends up eating when it’s too hot outside.

Pompeii ten minutes away, Oplontis fifteen, Vesuvius half an hour. In the evening you come back to somewhere quiet — which, on the Amalfi Coast in August, is not a small thing.
