The Path of the Gods runs from Bomerano, a hamlet of Agerola, to Nocelle, above Positano. It’s about eight kilometres and takes three to four hours, depending on how often you stop — and you stop a lot.
You walk through terraces, ancient stone steps and drops that fall straight into the Tyrrhenian. Around you: Mediterranean scrub, wildflowers, and the smell of herbs carried up from the sea. You can see Capri, Li Galli and the wall of the Amalfi Coast from above. That’s where the name comes from.
You don’t need to be a climber, but you do need proper shoes and water: some stretches are uneven and there’s little shade. At Nocelle you either take the long stairway down to Positano, or the bus, and finish in better shape.
